I miss Domino. I don’t have every issue but most of them still on my bookshelf. I especially loved the simple but effective layout and design of that magazine and used to take it with me and go through it very thoroughly. It was my one stop read: magazine and I was convinced that one day they would shoot the Snapdragon Inn (hey, we all have to dream right?)
Saying that, I have warmed right up to Lonny magazine now on its 4th issue. It is an online magazine and they have created a user friendly and clever design so you actually feel like you are flipping through a magazine–sort of. There are all sorts of viewing options and you can print the whole things or certain pages–really clever. Hopefully without the cost of printing, we won’t have to go through the heartbreak of seeing favorite magazines say goodbye.I also like their mission
OUR MISSION is to reopen the doors of accessible design. By embracing an online platform we provide inspiration at the click of a finger, directly connecting our readers to their favorite products and resources. Our freedom from page limits means that we can share more content in each issue, delivering an intimate look into the way people really live.
At Lonny, we value independent thinking and believe not in following trends but rather in making choices that lead to happiness. We believe that good design and affordable design can coexist and that true inspiration can be found in the teeniest of homes or in the grandest of spaces.
I only have very few minutes a day to check out inspirational sites but I ALWAYS see something at Lonny that sparks a light.
